There’s More to Sustainability

August 20, 2018

Sustainability is about being part of the community that enables us to progress and preserve prosperity for future generations.

This will help ensure a decent lifestyle (living conditions), enriching jobs, rising learning opportunities, ease of travel and transportation, healthy social connections and good health. Our business is to take care of the details and guide you to what is best for your project. You can count on our team to deliver solutions which are creative, offer outstanding quality of work, delivered on time and at an attractive price point.

Always working to reduce the environmental impact of commercial printing

We have always been conscious of the environmental impact of commercial printing and we continuously work to reduce our carbon footprint, maximize the utilization of materials to diminish waste and recycle as much as possible. We also pay attention to small details such as using all low-energy LED lights throughout the shop, which helps reduce our electricity consumption and provides superior lighting to review work. It is these kinds of details that help us ensure we do our share to protect our environment while delivering superior products.

We are also FSC-certified through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) [https://us.fsc.org/en-us], an international certification and labeling system that guarantees the wood products we buy come from responsibly managed forests and verified recycled sources. FSC standards are globally recognized as the highest social and environmental standards in forestry. We are advocates of FSC since they stand for the following:

  • Look after forests that are of high conservation value.
  • Guarantees that harvested trees are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally.
  • Maintains the ecological functions of the forest.
  • Shelters wildlife habitat and species.
  • Respects the rights of indigenous people and local communities to use the forest.

On top of all that, we also only use full soy-based and water-based inks with non-toxic, low volatile organic compounds or VOC coatings. VOCs are solvents that get released into the air as the ink dries. VOCs can cause acute symptoms, including headaches and dizziness. The long-term effects are less certain, but according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), some VOCs are suspected carcinogens. We simply don’t use such products to protect our employees and customers.
